Our Story

Founder’s Note

To me, textiles have always transcended their material form. They carry emotions, memories and stories. My relationship with it began years before I called myself an artist. As a child surrounded by textile looms, I was fascinated by the process of a fibre transforming into a fabric. This fascination never left, even through the years I set my creativity aside. It kept calling me back.

Eventually I returned to it fully; studying textile design, and later, fashion and textile management at Istituto Marangoni, Mumbai.

But what shapes my work most isn’t technique. It’s motherhood. My twin daughters taught me patience, and led me back to a part of myself I’d left unattended for years.

Every piece I make carries my stories and beliefs. Knotting cord, for me, is meditation. Repetition becomes rhythm. Texture becomes language. And somewhere in that process, a quiet conversation happens between the fibre, myself, and whoever eventually lives with the piece.

I don’t just create textile art. I create something to feel.

Who We Are

Minnal Gala is a studio dedicated to bespoke art installations and home decor: wall and panel installations, ceilings, soft sculptures, suspended ceiling works, layered tapestries, lamps, wall hangings, cushions and more. Every piece begins as a conversation about your space, and ends as something made entirely by hand, just for it.

Our Philosophy

We believe a room is transformed not by what is bought, but by what is made for it. That's why most of our work (installations, soft sculptures, ceiling pieces) is customised to size, material and colour. The price you see reflects the demo piece shown; your commission is shaped around your walls, your light, your story.

Our Process

You won't find a checkout button here. Browse the shop, choose a piece that speaks to you, and our team will reach out to talk through scale, materials, palette and an estimated timeline, typically a matter of months from first sketch to final installation. From there, we walk with you every step of the way.

How it begins

Thick and thin stripes, just like thick and thin lines of life. Sometimes up and sometimes down. Some in the form of brush strokes, like smooth and rough. Some in the form of pleats, some in the form of pintucks, some in warps and some in wefts.

And then comes knots in life. Some are simple and some are complicated. Some are beautiful and some create a glitch to make more interesting, just like warps and wefts in weaving, or just one thread used for knitting to make a whole garment, or just with one needle used for crochet to make some amazing designs and textures.
